I’m back at the Library of Congress to shoot the main foyer from a different angle. I can only get permission to photograph for a few hours at a time so I can usually only find time for one shot.

I drove to Charelston West Virginia to photograph the West Virginia State Capitol today. It was a long drive but well worth it! There were only two visitors (including me) in this massive building so we had the place essentially to ourselves. Despite that we had the place to ourselves he still managed to find a way to sit in my shot.

Nalinee Darmrong had a artist talk and book signing for her book “The Smiths” at the Lecia store in Washington D.C. She is a great photographer and an amazing person. I got my copy signed!

I took the train to New York to photograph the Oculus. Unfortunately there was a forty foot display on the interior that my contact for the shoot was unaware would be there! It is an awesome example of modern design and construction.

If you are ever in the Washington D.C. area and want to go see something different in D.C. then head to the National Arboretum. Aside from the obvious plant life you might find (to include a 400 year old bonsai tree that survived Hiroshima) they have the National Capitol Columns. They are the old columns that were removed from the capitol during renovations in 1958.

I was photographing in the Reagan Building International Trade Center today. I ran into a few problems (no pun intended) when a marathon ended at the Reagan Building and all of the runners walked through these stairs on their way to the parking garage. Then while I was photographing someone decided to change their pants at the top of the same stairs. Sometimes the most important part of my process is patience.

So I have returned to the Peabody to essentially re-photograph a few of the images I had previously taken. The Peabody has been very important to me; some of my early successes in film photography in the 1990’s and with my new multiple row digital process were both in the Peabody. I have refined my technique enough that I wanted to re-create the same images with some of my improvements.

Back at the Pennsylvania State Capitol today. My photographic process takes so long and this space is so amazing there is no was I can capture it in one visit!
